Since the first project in 2003 the Harvest Clubs exist at secondary schools in Bolgatanga. Every two weeks our social worker Abigail, her assistant Millicent or volunteers give a lesson on sexual reproductive health in 5 different secondary schools. This should support the young people in making self-determined and informed decisions regarding their body and health.
Closely linked to this is the FLASH program. Ever since 1992 there is a Curriculum for schools, which includes sexual reproductive health education. The lack of material and trained teachers as well as the unwillingness of teachers to teach sex education is addressed in this program. The aim is to train and support teachers to fulfil their educational responsibility.
